Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox won a scholarship award to study at the London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. The money she earned came from the student allowance, and relied off on a part-time job to supplement her funds. While in the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and contemplated a possible alternative direction she would take. Lennox was a part of a group known as Dragons Playground as the flute player in the year 1976. However, she left before her band was invited to compete on I.T.V.'s talent competition New Faces. The singer was lead vocalist for The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977 to 1980. That was also where she met Dave Stewart with whom she would form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox began work for Diva in 1992, her debut solo album. The album was a massive success as well as sales and critically acclaimed. Nostalgia Lennox's 6th solo album was released in the month of November. This C.D. Lennox picked her favorite blues and soul tunes. In addition in May 2019 Lennox released Lepidoptera a collection of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. The album is a companion to her Now I let it go... art installation, which was displayed at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. This is also her first independent album. Annie Lennox is a Scottish artist and singer born on December 25, 1954. The Tourists had a minor popularity in the latter part of the 1970s. Lennox as well as Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, would go on to achieve international fame in 1980s with the Eurythmics. Lennox began her own solo career when she released her debut album Diva in 1992. The album was the inspiration of many hit songs like Walking through the Broken Glass. Medusa is the album she recorded as her first studio album in 1995. It features cover versions of some songs, including The No MoreI love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. Six studio albums by her solo, plus one compilation album, are to her credit.
