In her toddler years she appeared on television for her first time, at the age of two. At the age of 13, having ten years of vocal and dancing training in her past, she and her mother travelled on a journey to L.A. for a year to see if she could pursue a career in show business. Within two months, she got her first paying job performing for the Danny Kaye Show with Danny Kaye. The actress says "I learned from my lessons as a dancer and singer across a myriad of ways." It's a great way to train actors." The first time she acted was My Three Sons, followed with appearances on Gunsmoke, The Partridge Family, The Mod Squad, and Hawaii Five-O. O'Toole has appeared in more than 40 television series. Despite her fame both in television and film the theater is her main interest. The time her stint on Smallville came to an end, she chose to concentrate on theatre, which is what she's done over the last decade. When she moved from New York, she had her debut performance as a seagull in The Sea Gull. She's been in numerous off-Broadway plays, such as Adam Rapp's Kindness Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska, and Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
